Another expenses came out unexpectedly as our water tank burst out in huge leaks few days ago. Actually, the husband had made some remedy when the tank showed a very small leak in December last year. Perhaps, a sealant had worked to extend few more months of its service life.
But, then, when the same leak had exploded creating a huge water fountain near our storage area, we came to realized we had no other option but purchased a new water tank. Well, it’s serviceable life had been over 5 years already. Not bad.
I guess, what made the water tank last that long is because the good husband regularly did a clean up on the tank. This way, rust forming on the body of the tank will be washed away. This is actually the downside of having our tap water sourced out from a deep well. Water needs to be pumped out by a small hydraulic pump to be stored in tanks. And, as we know, tap water contains rust. Rust that can clog water pipes causing it to burst. Rust can also do potential harm on the engine pump itself. Thus, to minimize the damage, the husband continuously checked on our water system. Checking/repairing minor leaks there is.
But, when times call for a replacement, particularly that he couldn’t control the leak anymore, he advised that I should have called up our neighbor plumber to get the work done. Major replacement = Major expenses
