Mirrors—Mirrors are the best way to create illusion for spaces and volume. Affix them in walls in strategic parts of the home and make sure they are steadily placed to avoid breaking.

Colors and Hues – Choosing the right colors in painting small rooms is also key to make them appear bigger. Use mute and light colors to paint the walls of narrow rooms. Employing vertical lines also help in providing a sense of space and increased width. The hues of green, blue and yellow are the best pick. Not only will these hues provide an illusion for wideness, they are also very relaxing to the eyes.

Not too much decoration— Putting a lot of decorations in walls is not a good idea especially when there is small space. Too many decorations will make a small room look all the more cramped and crowdy. Hanging few pictures in each walls is enough. Family pictures and words of encouragement make the best decorations for every home.

Avoid Clutter—When you work on a small area, you can’t avoid to just throw your things here and there. Clutters are very unsightly especially for rooms with limited spaces. Have yourself storage furniture where you could keep all your things. Remember that tidiness and orderliness are key to making a home livable, whether it is spacious or not.
