Summer time is here. However, I am not sure if I’ll be loving this season when I have three kids to attend to 24/7. Kids who are always hungry which leaves me staying more in the kitchen as ever. Kids who tends to make clutter faster than I can clean them up. I guess, I am more busier when school is off. Whereas, when all the kids are in school and the husband is working, I can have spare time to do what I like best to do -cleaning the house, rearranging furniture, decorating.
I have this notoriety in changing the decors more often. I don’t know. Maybe, it’s one of those SAHM-thing. When all the chores are done, I’ve got nothing else to do.
Move things. Here, there, back here, again
When I purchased these clay potteries in December, I placed them in the living room. Then, in January I moved them outside near the entrance door. But the blustery winds of the Amihan endangers one piece which makes me find a new home for them, again.
Here they are now. In a wall where in November, a table with my angel figurines sit here. Angels are relocated^^ to give these earthenware pieces a new place. Above them is a framed clock with my cross stitch-giraffe-design.
So there. The trio potteries find its way in our so-called entertainment/family room. I personally thought, they fit better there as the color of the wall is a cool green and the flooring tiles are a combination of olive green/grey/yellow. I thought the yellow pieces complement the colors in the area. Did they?
I don’t know how long will they stay there.
BTW, the three potteries cost only 1500 pesos. They’re made of clay and spray painted the designs. A friend referred the seller to me in December who hails from Ilocos.
Finally finding the green color that I prefer for our family/entertainment room. As again, sorry for the blurry iPod photo. In reality, both greens are deeper and rich. I believed the colors suit the tone/theme of the room. To make the room a little brighter, and more fresher
This room is ready for occupancy
But since the painter’s not yet done on the living room, I decided not to move in the fixtures. Not until this weekend. Will be very busy by then.
Will have a peek tomorrow of the kitchen area specially the ceiling and the hanging cabinets. Couldn’t keep off my excitement.
With the newly purchased desktop computer, I am wondering whether to placed the unit onto its rightful place into the family cum entertainment area. Or, relocate the table and the new computer inside the master bedroom for me to regulate kids’ usage. What do you think?
The only thing that veers me away from doing the final decision is that the main cable from the rooftop antenna provided by the service provider is very near the family room. Imagine the cables and wires that needed to be relocated also. Expect the husband to lend his cable management expertise when he does the set-up tomorrow.
I just hoped, he wouldn’t bother rearranging the furniture when he does the task.
Saved this photo because I needed color inspiration for the family room. I know, the budget’s too far from realization. Well, we’ll never know. Luck is something we hang on to everyday. Of course, we have to work our butt off for dreams to manifest
With a positive attitude I started searching for color palettes that will complement the theme of the room. I thought this color combination will be just as awesome when applied in the room. The striking rustic color on the far side of the wall will make a great focal point and the neutral color of the walls (brown family) will tone down the bold hue.
For once, the addition of colors will make the room more family oriented and at the same time, cozier. I am planning to make the family room livelier by adding brightly colored throw pillows, decor items and scented candles -candles are my waterloo.
The hubby even suggested, we transferred the entertainment shelving unit in the center wall to make easy viewing angle for the television and to make room for the home theater units. We really loved listening to old music when we wanted to de-stress and relax. That reminds me to check on the Acoustica Software which might help to improve the kind of music stored on our iPod.
Have a great week, guys. And, do not forget, when you are planning on redecorating a room, infusing bright colors can largely effect the overall look of any space.
In December, I beg the husband to get rid of our old chandelier in the family room. It was still functioning good. The reason why the husband would never wanted to take it off from the ceiling. Told him it was actually the only piece in the room that didn’t jibe well enough to complement the theme of the room.
Being a licensed Electrical Engineer, he has been the one assigned to fix everything that concerns about electricity, appliances, and repairs of anything related to electricity. Though, I still have the final say in choosing what fixtures I had to placed into the house. Even choosing what particular forecast lighting we will have to install in the family room. I particularly took fancy on this elegant pendant lighting set.
This unit will surely add warmth and homeyness into the room. While the husband suggested another thing…
…this equally beautiful hubbardton forge lighting. He has a knack for selecting what particular light fixture fits any room to a T. He would often tell me to consider first the area of the room. It would be better if each lighting system will cover the whole area.
Light always plays a factor in home designing. Light makes small rooms looks larger, it also makes every living spaces come alive especially with the availability of designs in the market.
