Yes, just as my son is pulling out the weeds last weekend at the backyard, find me this one ready for the thrash bin. This bunch, with its trunk had turned completely dried up. Few branches were still green, so were the leaves, but, no worries, in a couple of days, it will all get browned up.
I just couldn’t let the creativity boiling in me slips past my psyche seeing this “thrashable” weed…
Off it goes unto my working table…and, worked my hands to make it rounder. Secure loose branches with dark twine or the dried branches itself. See, how easy it is to form into a round wreath
Needed few trimmings to add life to it…Found me this white/silver gift ribbons and hot glued it unto the wreath…
Had to make few more ribbons…and add few more trimmings…
In less than 30 minutes, the wreath made of weeds were ready for display. And, because, our kitchen window went bare (after hubby thought the recent curtain I sew made our kitchen area too dark), it truly deserve this holiday treatment.
Not convince enough. I hang this old golden yellow valance to go with the wreath…
NOT SATISFIED WITH THE RESULT. It is a disaster. But, I never wanted to disregard the valance, so, I did a little twist on it. LITERALLY TWIST the soft satin fabric, tied it at both ends…VIOLA!
FINALLY! Yes, it is the same gold/yellow valance…Thought, it goes well with the DIY wreath…
This will be this window’s Christmas dress-up…
With gold/red/yellow trimmings…FINALLY!
This has been another budgeted DIY Christmas wreath. You might wanna check out this blue wreath made out of repurpose old Christmas tree. Decorating need not be expensive. There are stuff around which can be recycled. Creativity is all that is needed.
Linking this post to Green Monday, Mellow Yellow Monday, Ruby Tuesday.
This has been the old Christmas tree that I thought of repurposing after it has been sitting for long in the storage. We already finished doing garlands out of it, which had been placed as a window treatment
There’s more of the tree, so we decided to do a wreath…
Cutting …and, more cutting…(using pliers)…
Hubby find a wire and form it into a ring (12″ in diameter). And, twisted the greens unto it alternately…
Still working on a round wreath…”I say round, honey”
Hmmm, turning out well…don’t you think? Now, it is my time working on the table. Have to start placing on the trimmings…What shall it be?
Blue and silver paper flowers (store bought)…and ribbons of the same color…take a peek…hmmm…
And, finishing off with silvery balls…what else might be missing?
Think not of disposing old stuff. Resourcefulness and creativity is the key. Plus, lots of cutting and twisting…
