found this moon cake tin can from my cousin's storage

though i felt bad, i never tasted the moon cake, i was glad she let me have this, as i have multiple ideas what to do with it...

instead of sleeping in the storage, it's now displayed in my counter top, as storage for this little confectioneries, or it can be a trinket storage...

I AM IN THE MOOD FOR MAKING FLOWERS TODAY AS I NEED TO REPLACE OLD AND DIRTY ONES THAT WERE IN MY LITTLE CORNER DOWN THE RECEIVING AREA…here’s my simple and thrifty DIY.

got this geometric shape plate at a bargain shop for 30 pesos

i cut out styro i found in the storage

c

bought this plastic sunflower bunch for fifty pesos

cut out the stem depending on the height you want for the project

glue it on the styro and add some twigs and greens depending on your planned style

smaller ferns and flowers cost as little as 20 pesos for a bunch, and the moss cost 10 pesos for this project

THE FINISHED PRODUCT...costs no more than 150 pesos ($3)

I DID PLACED MY NEW PROJECT HERE

Procrastination is taking a toll on me. I found out that  my unfinished cross stitching projects in the storage has found new denizens: termites! yaiks!

My SIL introduced me to cross stitching in 1993. i was hesitant because i’m sewing lots of baby stuffs, then. when our singer sewing machine broke down, i had the chance to do these simple projects…

a very simple project i gave to my mom

my mom's favorite

Jesus' face in silhouette. mom was in awe when i finished this one.

my work stills hangs above mom's altar...

surely, i missed my mom, who appreciates those simple cross stitches…i am missing the hoops and the needles, too.

POSTED FOR BLUE MONDAY AND MELLOW YELLOW MONDAY

i am sharing today at MELLOW YELLOW MONDAY and BLUE MONDAY the new look of our family room…

before we bought the new sofa set below, i knew i had to place these old country-style seating pieces here, instead of selling them as what other friends keep telling me. i love the contrast of the mahogany floor rug against the dark wood pieces accentuated by a blue painting on the wall, the blue towering jar on the side, and, few hints of small yellows as decors.

i’ve been eyeing for a new couch for some months now, and when luck came knocking in…i grabbed this brown/ecru sectional chaise…

SOLD!!!

my only concern now is…the blue curtains which i patiently sewed in time for the holidays became alienated with the newest arrival in our home :) )) the only thing…THE RUBY NETBOOK SEEMS TO JIBE IN THE AREA…isn’t it?

Linking this post to RUBY TUESDAY, as well…
